I got notification in the mail today, the 4th AFNI account has been unverified, and determined to be one that needs to come off the reports. Got the letter today, went online and pulled my latest reports and it is already off one report and in the process of coming off the other reports!! YEA!!! AFNI is completely and totally gone and I never have to worry about them again!
I also got notification from FNCC that they had sold their account to Midland, which I was pretty sure of. But FNCC was still reporting a balance, so they corrected their entry on the credit reports to read correctly that there is a zero balance. Once I get everything paid and cleared with Midland I will goodwill letter FNCC and hopefully get them to remove the entry.
Verizon wrote back and said that their accounts were correct, which seems odd to me because I actually asked them for account information, not for them to just tell me that they think they are right. So I have to fight with them and see what I can get done there. I had put their name on Planet Feedback, and got a response saying they wanted me to call in. I am not going to call in, but I still have not heard from anyone on anything, so I guess I will keep emailing and see if someone can connect with me online for fast resolution.
This week I have to start tackling CPS and Santander. This will not make me happy, but eventually I have to get them taken care of one way or another. :( They are the two biggest accounts effecting my husband's and my credit. We'll see how this goes! It should be just as easy as a small $75 bill, but its not. Santander is a company I have not had to deal with yet, so they are foreign and I have no idea how they are going to respond. CPS is the devil incarnate. They are evil, rude, mean, and unwilling to work with us on making things easy. I have to have a lawyer deal with them, because honestly they worry me.

2 more down!!!
Went to pick up the mail today. Found a pretty little green card waiting for me, then I saw there was a nice stack of letters. Again, so weird to be excited over hearing back from collection agents.
First one I open, its from Hooters. I was denied for their credit card. Boo. I so wanted a hooters card!! lol I will call for a reconsideration when I get a few more things taken off. I see they check TransUnion only and that seems to update pretty well.
Second I open is from United Compucredit. They have no validation information for me and are deleting!!! YAY! One bill I don't have to pay, although it was not huge.
Next thing I open is a letter from AFNI. They have verified my 199 Verizon debt, and want to see it paid. Ok, no prob. Now that I have validation then I can deal with them correctly. I prepared a letter with another PFD offer, asking them to consider a PFD for full payment. Hopefully this time they will read the letter.
Next I open a thin envelope. Its from ANFI again! Its about the bellsouth account! They can't validate so they are removing the account from the credit reports!!! Another one I don't have to pay! Yippeee!!
Then I open a letter from BCA. Its the itemized bill from Disney world. I am not sure if it was paid, but now I have the info to go back to my bank and search records. I have already set up a PFD with them, so that is easy for me to just file away.
Its so nice to be getting this stuff taken care of. It feels so good to see things come off.

Success!!!
Omg, can it be true? I found a collection agency I actually respect!!!
And this woman earned my respect! Tammy at Financial Credit Services responded to my PFD. She told me that it was not something they could do, but because the address they had on file was an old one, and I never received the dunning notice, it allowed her to remove the trade line on my report. She is doing that along with me paying that account, and two others not on my credit, in full!!
I love this woman!! HORRAY FOR TAMMY!!! This is what happens when you work with the client and try to make things work out. You get paid! Immediately!!
I am so happy. It feels so good to make progress, and to see that there are people willing to work towards an amicable solution.
Financial Services, you rock in my book!!!

Don't you want my money?
On a lark I spoke to one of my collection agencies on the phone. Wanted to see if I could get a name of someone to address my letters to so I could maybe build a relationship and get this PFD done fast. Wow, just wow.
After him telling me that they only accepted checks over the phone (not safe and since I have not had to deal with paper checks in over 4 years I could not even tell you what my routing number is) and also him telling me that the trade lines had been removed from my credit (still checking my daily report...still on there) I told him that if he wanted to get this paid, all he needed to do was to send me the PFD like I originally asked, and that I looked forward to him sending it to me. After I hung up I sent an email to the CEO, and will send out more PFD letters to the agency to see if any other agents bite. One of them is going to want my commission, and entries on the internet have told me that they accept PFDs. I just want to pay them. It would be nice if we could come to an agreement on this. I am not mad about him lying, its what his job is all about. (Not that its legal, but I expect no different)
I have received most of the green cards back on the accounts I have. I have also received extra collection accounts being added to my credit reports. LOL Those will have to be taken care of. One step at a time. This is not a quick process, even thought I want it to be. Eventually everything will be whittled away and things will be removed. It will be nice to pay everything off.
I know that some of my creditors are reading my blog, so to you I would like to say this now:
I WANT TO PAY YOU! JUST GIVE ME THE PFD LETTER AND YOU WILL BE PAID. WHETHER OR NOT I OWE THE DEBT IS IRRELEVANT TO ME. LETS JUST GET THIS DONE SO YOU CAN BE PAID AND WE CAN GET ON WITH OUR LIVES.
Thanks. hehehe

The envelope please.
Last night I printed out the final copies of all of our letters to every creditor (except one) that is on our credit reports. Some I am still debating on if I am going to send them or not.
Here is a peek at what our PFD (Pay For Deletion) letter looks like. We are sending these to legit creditors and collectors that we want to just pay and remove from the credit as soon as possible.

----------------------
Feel free to use these if you like so that you can do the same.
I will be mailing these out to most of our accounts on Friday using a return receipt requested so I can verify the date they received them, and that they have. I am not quite sure what I am going to do if I never hear back, or how soon I will send the next one. We will see what happens.

Re: Collection Account for Verizon Account #: XXXXXXX
Amount: $199.00
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is to inform you that the validity of this debt is disputed. I am not sure of the account number, as I have never heard from you regarding this account. The account number I have is the one listed on my Experian credit report – which omits the last few digits.
In the spirit of compromise, I am willing to pay this account IN FULL if you agree to immediate deletion of this account from any and all credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion). The purpose of this settlement is merely to have this item removed from my credit files. It is not to be construed as an acknowledgment of liability for this debt in any form.
If you agree to the terms and accept this agreement, certified funds for the settlement amount of One Hundred Ninety Nine Dollars ($199.00) will be sent to AFNI in exchange for full deletion of ALL references regarding this account from my credit files and full satisfaction of the debt. As certified funds will be used for payment, there shall be no waiting period regarding the deletion of this account from the credit reporting agencies.
AFNI agrees to delete ALL information regarding this account from the credit reporting agencies WITHIN TEN CALENDAR (10) DAYS following receipt of payment as specified above and will not discuss the terms of this settlement with anyone, excluding your client on this account. If contacted by any third party, including credit-reporting agencies, AFNI will not acknowledge that any settlement offer was made, accepted or executed and will, in fact, deny knowledge of any such account.
If you agree to the above terms, please prepare a letter on your company letterhead explicitly agreeing to the same terms as the above settlement offer and have it signed by an authorized representative of AFNI. It will be implied that this letter shall constitute a legally binding contract, enforceable under the laws of my state.
Your response must be postmarked NO LATER THAN FIFTEEN CALENDAR (15) DAYS from your receipt of this settlement offer or this offer will be withdrawn and I will request full validation of this alleged debt, as provided for by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

And here is a peek at what our DV (Debt Validation) letters look like. These are being sent to the creditors and collectors of accounts that are very old, are not recognized, we feel might be a mistake or have been paid, etc.

Re: Collection Account for T-Mobile Account #: XXXX
Amount: $773.00
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is to inform you that the validity of this debt is disputed. I am not sure of the account number, as I have never heard from you regarding this account. The account number I have is the one listed on my Experian credit report – which omits the last few digits.
I pulled my credit bureau reports, and I discovered that you claim I owe you a debt. Under § 809 of FDCPA, send me validation of this debt. Since I have just recently pulled my credit report I am only now aware of your collection acts on this account. This puts me within the allotted time to dispute this debt.
As per the FDCPA I would like more than just validation of address. AFNI needs to send me validation containing the original creditor’s name and contact information, debtor’s account number with original creditor, all debtors listed on the account, final amount owed to original creditor, your collection fees, date of last payment, and copy of the original signed contract between the debtor and the original creditor.
If validation of this debt is unavailable then you must remove all reference to the listed account and any payment history or monies owed from all three credit reports (TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax).
If validation is provided as requested I will need THIRTY CALENDAR (30) DAYS to review the debt and make a determination of how it can be satisfied. During this time period it is requested that no collection acts take place. Hopefully then we can come to a mutually acceptable agreement for debt satisfaction.
Do not call in regards to this account. If you have any questions please address all written correspondence regarding this account to:
